This is the membrane hole free series. If you don't want to mess with membrane holes this flute eliminates that hassle. From what I have read, it is a bit easier to play a flute with no membrane hole. A piece of scotch tape over the membrane hole makes the flutes with membranes holes as easy to deal with as this one however. So if you want the option or really like the unique membrane sound, get the regular one. The finish is good and it looks good. The flute is able to give clear tones over a range of about two and a half octaves. The Soprano G is roughly 14 inches long. It is a good choice for beginners from what I have read. The length makes it easy to play for just about anyone. I have a 5288 Bass F and it is about three feet long. It is more difficult to reach all the holes. My flute, which was in stock, arrived 10 days after it left Hong Kong. Another flute made it sooner. I play this flute every day, it is holding up... Read more |
