Mr. Metcalf's attention to detail, from the basic construction of the instrument to its remarkable finish and accurate tuning is beyond reproach. Fresh out of the shipping tube, this whistle played clean and true across the first two octaves (and into the third) with remarkable ease. The tone was clean with just a mild hint of chiffiness (which was quite pleasant, and adds a nice character to the tone of the whistle). Fingering was easy,as the hole sizes and positions were very well laid out. Articulation of ornaments is crisp.This is my fourth whistle from this vendor (Including a custom Ceol Pro Low D, Ceol Pro High D, and Flame Maple High D), and I have been consistently impressed with the instruments.
