I did an internet search and was not able to find the exact same unit that could be send out to me immediately. During that search, I came upon this Hercules DS5438 stand. My needs are fairly simple since I only play flute and piccolo. When it was delivered ( very fast delivery ), I quickly got it out of its box and set it up.The good news is that I find it very well constructed. The steel is rugged and the pivot points seem very solid with no play in them. It is quite compact in its folded position. The not so good news, at least for me, is that the included piccolo peg is not elevated which makes the reach for my piccolo lower to the floor than I would like. Fortunately for me they packed two flute pegs along with the single piccolo peg. That gave me an extra peg to "play" with. Without being too heavy, it manages to be very stable, so there is no fear of the clarinet stand tipping over. It folds up nicely and can be carried easily. I use it for holding my three Albert system clarinets, C, Bb, and A Buffets. I put a third clarinet holder in place of the piccolo holder.I also use one of their "guitar" stands for my bouzouki. It is the best stand of its type I've ever tried. My satisfaction for that stand prompted me to buy the clarinet stand, and it is just as good. These are great products. |
