It's the only flute I've ever owned, but I have rented other brand named flutes, and I like the shape of this one better. The others have rounded hill-type keys and seem to be a little sharp with a "brighter" sound. Artley flutes are good for a band or musician who want(s) a dark tone to their music. It's never broken, dented, or, truthfully, scratched *been dropped a few times* and has never had a sngle problem playing a note other then user error. The only problem wih the design is that it does seem to be able to trep more dirt in/on/around the keys, but if you get a cleaning set from Willis or something, it's easy to make look pretty.
