It is exceeding my expectations. I do a lot of gigs as a doubler on saxes and flute, sometimes clarinet too. I recently borrowed an all silver muramatsu from a friend model AD (an old one) and it played well. However, this Elegante Coda gives you a lot of bang for the buck. It just feels great in my hands, responds to anything I do and the split E mechanism is a dream. I went from inline G to this offset G and didn't have to make any adjustments. That tells me that offset is the more natural position for my hands anyway.If you are afraid because of the Taiwan factory production don't be. I think Pearl just poured a lot of quality into this and made the price decent for all the features--10k gold lip plate, nice headjoint (forza) and other features you can read about on pearl's website.
