I am very pleased with this instrument. Not being a flutist, I was not looking forward to renting something, that may not be in that great of condition, for my 10 year old daughter to begin music lessons. It was tuned a little sharp as received, but easily fixed by not inserting the head joint all the way. Even so, I'm sure nobody listening to her elementary school band, except maybe her music teacher, would notice.
